Death toll in Iran reaches at least 555
At least 555 people have been killed in Iran as a result of attacks by the USA and Israel. This was reported by the Iranian Red Crescent on its Telegram channel.
According to the report, one-third of the victims are students and teachers who died following a strike on a school. It is noted that 131 municipal districts have been attacked so far. More than 100,000 rescuers have been placed on high alert, and the 4030 hotline has been activated. Around 4 million volunteers are on standby to provide humanitarian, social, and psychological support.
As reported by the IRNA agency, according to the Ministry of Education, classes in Iranian schools at all levels will be conducted remotely until the end of the academic year.
As a reminder, on February 28, the USA and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran. Israel has stated that the objective of the strikes is to prevent Tehran from potentially acquiring nuclear weapons. US President Donald Trump announced the intention to destroy Iran’s navy and defense industry and called on the country’s citizens to overthrow the current authorities.
On the night of March 1, Iranian television reported the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. According to published data, 170 people, mostly students, were killed following a strike on a girls’ school in southern Iran.
In response, Tehran is launching strikes against Israeli territory and American military bases located in the Middle East.
