Illegal Logging in Vayots Dzor Province

A case of illegal logging has been uncovered in the town of Yeghegnadzor, Vayots Dzor Province. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Along the banks of the Arpa River, near a restaurant complex, 40 freshly cut willow stumps were found. A 40-year-old man admitted that between December and January 8, he had cut down these trees without the necessary permits, using the wood as fuel.

In several stores across Armenia, masks have returned to the shelves. The reason is a new virus, which was also recorded in China at the beginning of 2025. A significant increase in respiratory infections, including Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), has been observed in the country. It ia noted particularly in northern regions. HMPV is a well-known respiratory virus that usually causes mild symptoms but can lead to more severe conditions in newborns, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
