Armenia possesses intelligence data indicating that Azerbaijan uses prohibited psychotropic substances on Armenian prisoners held in Baku to extract statements and testimonies aimed at inciting regional escalations

The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will visit Armenia in the coming days. This was announced by Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, during a session of the National Assembly’s Committee on European Integration on January 24.

The question of initiating the process of Armenia’s accession to the European Union has been included in the agenda of the National Assembly’s plenary sessions. The decision was discussed and approved during the session of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration on January 24.

In response to the Armenian Foreign Intelligence Service’s 2025 annual report on “External Security Risks to Armenia,” the CSTO has stated that it still considers Armenia an ally, as it did before. This was reported by Russia’s TASS news agency.

The National Assembly is currently discussing the legislative initiative for launching the process of Armenia’s membership in the European Union, referred to as the “Eurovote” initiative. The main rapporteur is Artak Zeynalyan, who is also presenting the proposal. Representatives of non-parliamentary forces supporting the initiative are also attending the session.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is planning to visit the United States in early February. This was announced by the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, on her Facebook page.

During the panel discussion titled “Together for Peace and Democracy” held in Yerevan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan addressed the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, he stated that, with the necessary political will, the process of finalizing the peace agreement could take a very short time.
