“The Komitas of Today is the Republic of Armenia” – Pashinyan
On October 31, a regular government session took place. Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan presented a project aimed at revitalizing cultural life in communities.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the presented project, drawing a comparison between the Republic of Armenia and Komitas.
Why is Komitas Vardapet so highly valued in our reality and culture? He essentially saved a part of our intangible heritage by going from village to village, collecting and documenting it. At that time, we did not have a state… Therefore, the Komitas of today is the Republic of Armenia. This role must be fully fulfilled, Pashinyan stated.
