The Writers’ Union of Armenia is celebrating its 90th anniversary

On November 15, the Writers’ Union of Armenia celebrated its 90th anniversary, marking the rich and diverse path it has traveled over the decades in the field of literature.

The event was opened with a report by the President of the Writers’ Union, Edward Militonyan. He summarized the most significant stages of the union’s historical journey, from its founding in 1934 to the present day. The names of prominent Armenian poets, prose writers, playwrights, translators, and journalists were mentioned, whose work has been inseparable from the history and development of the Writers’ Union of Armenia.

During the event, speeches were made by the Secretary of the Writers’ Union, Norek Gasparyan, Honored Artist of Armenia Silva Yuzbashyan, Doctor of Sciences and Academician Aelita Dolukhanyan, playwright and editor-in-chief of Literary Newspaper Karine Khodikyan, former President of the Union of Composers of Armenia Robert Amirkhanyan, and actors from the Sundukyan Theatre.
