Pashinyan’s new Facebook cover photo is a special propaganda
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has changed his Facebook cover photo for the first time since 2021.
The cover photo features Mount Aragats, the state border of Armenia, with the following caption: “Here is the state, here is bread, here is the homeland, here is shelter.”

In the context of the peace treaty, the prevailing socio-political and geopolitical situation in the country, this is an important detail. By analyzing the image, Pashinyan hints at his concept of the “real Armenia.” One might infer that in Pashinyan’s “real Armenia,” Mount Ararat, one of Armenia’s most significant national symbols, is replaced by Mount Aragats. Could it be assumed that this is a signal to the public to forget about the Armenian Genocide for the sake of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations?
The second point to note is the depiction of Armenia’s state border. Since the beginning of the border delimitation processes in the Tavush region, the model of the “real Armenia” state border has started to circulate. This suggests that, for Armenia, the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh may be considered closed.
