The 4th-5th century church in Parpi village is being restored

The Tsiranavor Church, located in the village of Parpi in the Aragatsotn region, built in the 4th-5th centuries, is being renovated. It also served as a fortress. In the 1980s, after the removal of the fortress walls for research purposes, the decorative patterns and inscriptions on the church walls were revealed.

The restoration work of the church began in 2023. It is planned to be completed in 2025.

The church is mainly built of tuff. Initially, the specialists reinforced the foundations, and then proceeded with the restoration of the walls. The reconstruction is planned to be done in a way that preserves its original appearance.

Upon completion of the construction, the surrounding area of the church will also be improved.

In total, the government has allocated 300 million dram for the restoration of the early medieval monument.
