Snoop Dogg’s concert will not take place: The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MoESCS) has demanded the return of the funds

Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, summarized the ministry’s work for 2024 during a press conference. During the briefing, the minister discussed the postponement of rapper Snoop Dogg’s concert.

The concert was originally scheduled for September 2023 but was postponed due to the attack on Artsakh and the displacement of its residents. Following this, the concert was repeatedly delayed. In December 2023, the minister stated that the concert could take place in June or July, but later, it was mentioned that it might be in August.

Zhanna Andreasyan noted that they had been negotiating throughout the year to ensure the concert would take place and had reached preliminary agreements at different times. The terms of the contract must be followed. Since the concert did not take place during the planned period, they have already sent a written request to the organization to return the full amount to the state budget.

Around 6 million dollars were allocated from the state budget for Snoop Dogg’s concert. The purpose of the concert, as stated in the budget annex, was “to contribute to the development and promotion of contemporary theater, music, and dance arts based on national foundations.”
