Changes to Be Made in the Lyrics of the Armenian National Anthem
The lyrics of the Armenian National Anthem will undergo modifications, with adjustments to the order of the quatrains. It has also been proposed to replace the phrase “vor aprel es daredar” with “vor aprum es daredar.”
The draft law on amendments and additions to the “Law on the National Anthem of the Republic of Armenia,” presented by National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan and Civil Contract Party MPs Sisak Gabrielyan and Taguhi Ghazaryan, was approved during a session of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
I am confident that everyone remembers hearing Armenia’s anthem performed differently at various events. Sometimes it’s sung a bit faster, sometimes slower, and in some instances, the musical instruments play slightly different notes. Essentially, it has been unclear which version is officially recognized as Armenia’s anthem. Until now, there hasn’t been an officially published version, – noted Gabrielyan.
Following the adoption of the law, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports will publish the official versions of the anthem, including instrumental, vocal, and shortened variations.
