The feature film about Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan will premiere on March 5
A feature film about Vazgen Sargsyan is being produced at the initiative of his family and will premiere on the occasion of Vazgen Sargsyan’s 66th birthday on March 5.
Titled “Vazgen: The Last Sparapet,” the film’s shooting concluded in November. Based entirely on real events, it narrates the story of Armenia’s first Minister of Defense, Vazgen Sargsyan, from his childhood to his assassination.
Honored Artist of Armenia, Khoren Levonyan, portrays Vazgen Sargsyan in the film. Before finalizing the casting decision, there were suggestions for Sargsyan’s brother, Armen Sargsyan, to play the role, however, Armen declined, stating that “Khorik will portray Vazgen’s character more accurately and professionally.”
The film is produced by Genetic Production. It is dedicated to presenting the Armenian identity and history through the examples of prominent historical figures.
