The Unapproved Version of Armenia’s National Anthem Performed Again in the National Assembly

The 9th session of the 8th convocation of the National Assembly of Armenia began with the live performance of Armenia’s national anthem. The bill proposing amendments to the law on the national anthem, introduced by National Assembly President Alen Simonyan, Civil Contract party members Sisak Gabrielyan and Taguhi Ghazaryan, was approved during the session of the Assembly’s State and Legal Affairs Standing Committee.

The proposed changes involve rearranging the lines in the anthem’s text. Additionally, it was suggested to replace the phrase “vor aprel es daredar” with “vor aprum es daredar.”

Gegham Manukyan, a representative of the Armenia faction, commented on the live performance of the anthem’s new version in the Assembly, emphasizing that Armenia’s national anthem law is in effect and must be respected. He added that no one should violate any law based on personal preferences.

This is the second time the national anthem has been performed with the new version. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he personally monitored the issues encountered during the anthem’s performance, including tempo, duration, and technical quality. He instructed that, during events attended by him, the anthem should be performed live in accordance with specific quality standards.
