Armenia Contributes $93 Million More to EAEU Budget than It Receives
In 2024, Armenia contributed $231 million to the Eurasian Economic Union’s (EAEU) general budget, as announced by Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during a joint session of the National Assembly’s standing committees.
The EAEU is an international organization for regional economic integration, endowed with international legal status.
The EAEU ensures the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor, as well as a coordinated, agreed-upon, or unified policy in the economic sphere.
From January to October 2024, $231 million was collected from Armenia into the EAEU’s general budget. Armenia received $138 million, resulting in a negative balance of $93 million. This means Armenia receives $93 million less from the EAEU than it contributes.
The EAEU’s internal gross product amounted to $2.3919 trillion. Since 2017, Armenia’s indicator has grown by $7.48 billion, with trade with Iran contributing to this growth, reaching 13.5 percent over the past year.
