Thousands of Undeclared Goods Discovered at Customs Checkpoints

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) has summarized cases of smuggling and violations of customs regulations recorded during the week. Large quantities of undeclared goods were discovered in trucks, buses, and among citizens arriving on international flights.

Specifically, during the inspection of vehicles arriving at the Bavra border checkpoint, 201 kg of fresh spruce branches, 13 kg of palm branches, and 30 kg of fresh eucalyptus branches were discovered without the necessary documentation.

At the Bagratashen checkpoint, 18 tons of undeclared candy were found in trucks, along with 3,350 kg of mandarins and 1,000 kg of persimmons.

At the Agarak customs crossing point, 6,000 liters of undeclared diesel fuel were discovered in 12 cases involving inspected trucks and buses, while in 16 cases, more than 38,000 packs of undeclared and concealed cigarettes were found.

By air, at Zvartnots Airport, attempts were made to import expensive branded watches—Cartier, Rolex, and Patek Philippe—into Armenia on flights from Milan-Yerevan, Abu Dhabi-Yerevan, and Los Angeles-Warsaw-Yerevan.

Discoveries were also made at the Gogavan customs checkpoint: the inspection of one truck revealed 400 kg of undeclared dried quince, kumquat, peach, and persimmon.
