Violations discovered in 15 high-voltage power stations

An inspection of more than 320 high-voltage substations has been completed in Armenia, during which issues requiring systemic corrections and investments were revealed.

During the inspection, it was found that the technical condition of 15 substations is at a dangerous level. In many substations, water supply and drainage systems were absent, sanitary and hygienic conditions were poorly maintained, and the equipment was obsolete and in need of replacement.

It was also revealed that over the past decade, systemic repairs had not been carried out in a number of 110kV/35kV capacity substations, which increases the risk of accidents.

The planned measures have been divided into three directions: monthly and annual maintenance work, urgent technical interventions, and substation modernization programs.

To avoid large-scale accidents, special instructions have been issued to ensure the proper and timely implementation of ongoing maintenance work at the substations and, consequently, to reduce and prevent the number of possible accidents in the distribution network.
