In the Tatev community, a market for agricultural, souvenir, and handicraft products will be established
It is planned to build a market for agricultural products, souvenirs, and handicrafts in the Tatev community, which will become a center for retail trade and leisure. Around 20-25 new pavilions will be constructed for local producers and traders. The project aims to enhance the community’s economic opportunities and create new jobs. The exact location of the market is not yet known. But it will likely be built along the road from the “Tatever” (Wings of Tatev) cableway to the Tatev Monastery.
Initially, retail spaces will be provided free of charge to members of the Tatev community and forcibly displaced people from Artsakh. The market’s future operations will be based on the principles of social entrepreneurship, with the profits directed towards the development of the community.
The project is being implemented by the “We Are Our Mountains” Development Agency. This organization has also carried out the construction of a charitable garden in the Tatev community. The profits from it likewise directed towards the community’s development.
The project will be of great significance for the development of the community and tourism. Tourists will be able to shop there and spend their time. Our programs are primarily focused on the Tatev community. The choice is not random; Tatev is a major tourist destination, moreover, the development of Tatev has always been one of the priorities of our founder, Ruben Vardanyan, – stated Grigori Martirosyan, the General Director of the “We Are Our Mountains” Development Agency.
Donations are being collected for the implementation of the project. More than half of the required amount has already been raised. Grigori Martirosyan noted that the market construction project is already in the working phase. Following the necessary legal procedures, construction work will begin.
Regardless, we will start the project and hope to raise the full amount by the planned completion date. If the fundraising process is delayed, we will intensify our efforts to secure the remaining funds. At the very least, we will begin the work and continue further construction alongside the fundraising process, – noted Grigori Martirosyan.
