Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, Announces Construction and Renovation of Around 130 km of Irrigation Networks in 2024

In 2024, a total of 6.38 billion drams were allocated for the construction and renovation of water supply and drainage systems through the subvention program, around 385 km of water pipelines have been constructed and renovated. This was announced by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, on his Facebook page.

He added that under the irrigation system construction and renovation program, valued at 5.14 billion drams, around 130 km of irrigation networks were built and renovated.

Earlier, Khudatyan had announced that in 2024, under the state co-financing program aimed at ensuring balanced and sustainable development of all settlements and the development of community infrastructures, subvention programs worth a total of around 59 billion drams were implemented in communities, of this, 31.8 billion drams were allocated from the state budget, around 25.6 billion drams were paid from community budgets, and 1.6 billion drams were provided by other investors. This is 1 billion drams more than the same indicator in 2023.

In 2024, communities collected 43.4 billion drams in actual revenues, exceeding the planned 41.2 billion drams by 2.2 billion drams, or 5.3%. This is an increase of 1.8 billion drams compared to the 41.6 billion drams collected in 2023. It represents a 4.1% increase.

According to Khudatyan, the growth in community revenues was also facilitated by the regulations set in Armenia’s Tax Code regarding the calculation of property tax for local budgets.
