Over 6,300 Teachers Have Already Undergone Voluntary Certification in Armenia
More than 6,300 teachers in Armenia have already passed voluntary certification. This was announced by Zhanna Andreasyan, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, during a joint session of National Assembly (NA) committees.
The Minister noted that the voluntary teacher certification process is in an active phase, and it allows teachers to increase their remuneration.
“Currently, more than 6,300 teachers have passed the certification, and more than 8,400 teachers have applied for voluntary certification, which is set to begin this week,” she stated.
Andreasyan also referred to the open letter sent to the ministry by 300 teachers at the beginning of October, in which they demanded changes to the certification deadlines because they had been announced at the last minute. As a result, the certification dates were postponed by one week on October 27.
The Minister added that next year, funding for teacher incentive programs is planned to be doubled, reaching more than 20 billion drams, which will provide significant support to the educational system.
