Funding for Extracurricular Educational Institutions to Follow a Unified Approach
During its January 23 session, the Armenian government discussed and approved a regulation to define the list and descriptions of pedagogical and administrative-economic staff positions in extracurricular educational institutions.
Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan stated that this measure will help standardize service delivery. According to the minister, the same quality standards should be applied to all institutions.
Andreasyan added that this authority should be delegated to the competent body in the education sector, enabling the ministry to oversee the content provided by extracurricular institutions.
The project clarifies the procedures for financing. The main reason is that extracurricular institutions receive funding from the state budget within the framework of various programs, but this lacks any clear regulation.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports also emphasized the importance of a unified approach regarding the procedures for admission, final examinations, and the approval of curricula in extracurricular institutions.
