Technological college to open in Kapan

A technological college based on the “InnoIjevan” educational model is planned to be opened in Kapan. Sargis Karapetyan, the Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE), announced this during the union’s annual meeting in a conversation with journalists.

It is planned to implement the same model currently operating in Ijevan in Kapan as well. The Ministry of High-Tech Industry has already expressed its readiness to support the project.

The college in Ijevan operates on the principle of dual education, where students both study and work simultaneously starting from their second year. The “Real School” high school in Yerevan, founded by UATE and the founders of the “Instigate” IT company, also operates under this model.

The “Microchip” company, which has offices in Yerevan, Shirak, Vanadzor, and Ijevan, has also joined the project. According to Karapetyan, as a result of this cooperation, the youth of Ijevan have gained the opportunity to receive education locally and start working for a major technological company without leaving their city.

The college is intended to be established in the format of a public-private foundation, with representatives from both the public and private sectors included in its Board of Trustees.
