Around 70% of Schoolchildren Visited Museums and Theaters Last Year
On January 8, Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, held a press conference to summarize the ministry’s work in 2024. The Minister also addressed schoolchildren’s visits to museums and theaters.
Andreasyan mentioned that within the framework of the declared cultural and educational year, around 300,000 schoolchildren were provided with subscription-based visits to museums and theaters. This figure surpasses last year’s by 46%.
According to the minister, this represents about 70% of schoolchildren in Armenia. She also noted that over the past year, 21 youth cultural and educational programs had been carried out, as opposed to 18 in the previous year. More than 31,000 children participated in these programs.
Special attention was also given to events aimed at ensuring inclusivity. Seven targeted programs were implemented, with participation exceeding last year’s figures by more than 30%.
