The Opera House will be illuminated
In 2025, the building of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet will feature artistic lighting. This information was shared by the Yerevan Municipality.
People strolling by would often pay attention to the building. Until now, they would say, “Why isn’t the building illuminated? How can it be left like this?” I am confident that the architectural solutions developed will yield results in 2025. We will have a fantastically illuminated, magnificent Tamanyan-style structure that will become a must-visit site for every Armenian. I also believe that, as a promotional campaign, the lighting will benefit the Opera Theatre as well, – stated Karen Durgaryan, Director of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
Instead of the old projectors, about 400 new lamps will be installed. The project has undergone a lengthy process. Plans were developed to ensure that cables are no longer visible. The project is now at the competitive bidding stage.
