It is planned to open permanent mammography centers in regional centers next year
The breast screening program continues within the framework of regional mobile mammography. This was announced by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan during the discussion of the 2025 State Budget. In 2025, it is already planned to open permanent mammography centers in the regions.
There are good indicators among the issues identified within the screening programs. The state covers the costs of surgical procedures and examinations for breast cancer. This is the reason why the number of beneficiaries has increased, said Anahit Avanesyan.
With the support of the ministry, two new screening programs have been launched: a newborn screening program and a prenatal (intrauterine) program aimed at the early detection and treatment of childhood cancer.
