Counterfeit vodka discovered in vehicle in Yerevan

While on duty, officers of the Police Guard and patrolmen of the 2nd Battalion of the Yerevan City Regiment stopped a Mazda vehicle for inspection near an address on the Yeghvard Highway.

During the inspection, the officers discovered 6 cases of vodka, totaling 72 bottles, without excise stamps in the cabin of the vehicle.

The 38-year-old driver stated that he had acquired the alcoholic beverage through a Telegram platform.

The Yerevan resident was brought to the Davitashen division of the Community Police, and the documents compiled regarding the case were transferred to the preliminary investigation body.

It is recalled that days ago, the Aragatsotn Regional Department uncovered another case of illegal circulation of counterfeit alcohol: a 43-year-old resident of Ashtarak was engaged in the acquisition and sale of counterfeit vodka, obtaining it from a father and son residing in Nor Kharberd village, who had been bottling and selling counterfeit drinks for a long period.
