5,435 individuals deprived of driving licenses: MIA summarizes 2025 results

On January 24, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the 2025 performance at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Minister Arpine Sargsyan presented several statistical data points.

In 2025, 768 kilograms of narcotics were seized, exceeding the previous year’s figure by 80%. Additionally, 2.5 tons of illegally caught fish were discovered.

There were also revelations concerning financial losses and crimes. The material damage caused to the state and communities amounted to 25 billion AMD.

In 2025, the Criminal Police did not record any unsolved murder cases, which Minister Sargsyan assessed as a significant indicator for crime prevention.

The number of crimes detected by the Patrol Service has increased: while there were 11,948 cases in 2024, the figure reached 14,969 in 2025. 5,435 individuals were deprived of their driving licenses, the majority of which were due to driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Minister, the introduction of the Patrol Service led to a significant decrease in the number of road traffic accident fatalities: it decreased by 45 in 2024 and by another 50 in 2025.

An increase was also recorded in the field of administrative offenses: in 2025, the Patrol Service issued approximately 1 million protocols, whereas the average annual figure for the Road Police over three years was 300,000.
