Official accused of large-scale embezzlement
The Anti-Corruption Committee has uncovered a case of large-scale embezzlement recorded at one of the post offices of “HayPost” CJSC.
The Committee reports that based on a report received from the company, a preliminary investigation established that an official of the post office, having the authority to organize and implement operations as well as protect entrusted funds, used their official position to embezzle a total amount of 568,000 AMD.
Specifically, in October 2025, the aforementioned individual embezzled 425,589 AMD in cash from the post office cash desk for personal needs, as well as commercial goods equivalent to 142,630 AMD.
The official was detained and presented to the Anti-Corruption Committee, where they were charged under Clauses 2 and 3 of Part 2 of Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The individual has confessed to the act.
