Citizen charged for offering a bribe
The preliminary investigation of criminal proceedings initiated on the basis of a report received by the Anti-Corruption Committee revealed that a passenger of a vehicle attempted to offer a bribe to a patrol officer of the Yerevan Regiment of the Police Patrol Service in order to induce illegal inaction in favor of the driver.
According to the Committee, in February 2026, patrol officers stopped a car driven by a citizen and found that the driver did not possess a driver’s license and was in a state of intoxication.
While the protocol on the administrative offense was being drawn up, the passenger attempted to put money into the patrol officer’s pocket as a bribe, as a result of which he was detained and taken to the corresponding police department.
The individual pleaded guilty to the charges and provided a confession. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the case materials, along with the indictment, have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court.
