56 packets of methamphetamine discovered
According to the Police, officers from the Department for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking received information that a 29-year-old foreign male was illegally acquiring and distributing drugs through the “Telegram” application.
In the area adjacent to Tamantsiner Street in Yerevan, criminal police officers detained the suspect and transported him to the Shengavit District Department of the Community Police.
During a personal search, 23 packets wrapped in black tape were found in his possession, with a total weight of more than 56 grams. According to the man, the packets contained methamphetamine, which he had acquired via the “Telegram” app for the purpose of subsequently placing and selling them at various locations.
Law enforcement officers discovered an additional 33 packets placed in various hiding spots by the same individual. The total weight of the discovered drugs exceeded 87 grams.
The citizen has been remanded in custody.
