Two cases of illegal fishing
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports that on December 9, water patrols recorded two cases of illegal fishing in various sections of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway.
Around 11:45 AM, at the 11th kilometer of the road, the patrols stopped an “Opel” car driven by a resident of Noratus village for inspection. During the inspection, fish of the “sig” (whitefish) and “ishkhan” (Sevan trout) species were discovered in the car’s trunk and cabin. The driver and the car were taken to the Gavar Division of the Community Police.
On the same day, around 12:20 PM, at the 50th kilometer of the same road, water patrols approached a parked “Mercedes” car. The driver, a resident of Noratus, showed 128 pieces of sig (whitefish) with a total weight of 46 kg located in the trunk. The man, along with the car, was presented to the Martuni Division of the Community Police.
Investigations are underway in both cases
