Azerbaijani Prosecutor Considers Guilt of Artsakh’s Military-Political Leadership Proven

The Azerbaijani state prosecutor announced at the Baku Military Court that the guilt of Artsakh’s military-political leadership has been proven. During today’s court session, First Assistant to the Prosecutor General Vusal Aliyev stated that the defendants are charged with crimes committed from 1998 until September 20, 2023.

“The defendants, victims, and witnesses were questioned. We consider the guilt to be based on sufficient evidence,” Aliyev noted, emphasizing that the judicial investigation lasted about one year and approximately 100 sessions were held.

The First Assistant to the Minister (likely referring to the Prosecutor General’s First Assistant as noted above) added that the defendants have indirect involvement in “crimes committed by the state of Armenia from 1998 to 2023.” Azerbaijan accuses the military-political leadership of Artsakh of initiating and waging war, genocide, terrorism, violent seizure of power, and other grave crimes. Aliyev also mentioned that the individuals presented before the court are only a part of those responsible. The Azerbaijani agency “Azertac” has not yet published information regarding the sentences demanded by the prosecutor, or regarding the 15 Armenians standing trial with them.
