MOD addresses the case of an officer’s death in Vardenis
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense (MOD), publications circulating in a number of media and Telegram channels titled “MOD officer died in Vardenis due to an unfortunate incident” are misleading and do not correspond to reality. The circulated materials are also accompanied by a photograph of the serviceman.
The MOD spokesperson reports that the incident had no connection to military service; it took place under circumstances and in a location unrelated to the army.
The MOD urges approaching information regarding the army with utmost caution and responsibility, avoiding unconscientious headlines, and refraining from spreading information that could cause unnecessary concern for the families of servicemen.
