Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the possibility of improving relations with the United States. The Russian leader made this statement in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, responding to a question about the potential for improving relations between Russia and the U.S.
The president emphasized that “anything is possible if there is a desire.” Putin added that this desire has never disappeared and that Moscow is ready to build relationships with other countries, but not at the expense of its own interests.
If we see that the situation is changing in such a way that there are opportunities and prospects for building relationships with other countries, we are ready for that. The question is not ours, but theirs. But only without harming the interests of the Russian Federation, – Putin said.
Putin also noted that Russia has passed the period in its modern history when the previous generation of politicians was willing to even destroy their own country in the hope of becoming part of the so-called “civilized world.”
