Public figure Mihran Hakobyan attacked
Public figure Mihran Hakobyan was attacked today in the parking lot of the “Dalma Mall” shopping center. The information was reported by his lawyer, Ruben Melikyan.
According to the lawyer, the attack was unexpected, the assailants were masked, and they attacked Mihran Hakobyan from behind. Hakobyan sustained bodily injuries and was taken to the “Izmirlian” Medical Center.
Mihran Hakobyan suffered a broken nose, and there were also blows to the head, the consequences of which are unknown at the moment, lawyer Ruben Melikyan stated.
Ruben Melikyan also noted that this attack would not have been possible if law enforcement agencies had solved the case of a grenade being thrown in front of Hakobyan’s house in 2021. It is recalled that unknown individuals threw a grenade under Hakobyan’s car in the early morning of June 22, 2021.
Mihran Hakobyan has been a non-partisan Member of Parliament, as well as a member of the Council of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). He has repeatedly taken anti-government stances.
