MFA activities for 2025 summarized
On February 7, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to participate in the discussion of the agency’s 2025 activity report.
The report was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan.
The discussions focused on the developments recorded in the peace process. Minister Mirzoyan noted that in 2025, the number one priority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) was serving the peace agenda aimed at establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this context, the Washington Agreement was particularly emphasized.
Regional developments were also discussed, specifically the deepening of strategic partnerships with Turkey, Georgia, and Iran.
Mirzoyan highlighted the tangible results achieved toward the development of the Armenia-US strategic partnership.
The achievements regarding the deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership were also summarized, specifically the adoption of a new strategic agenda at the end of the year.
During the discussion, it was noted that Armenia seeks to develop friendly relations with the Russian Federation based on mutual respect and sovereignty.
High-level international events held in Yerevan in 2025 and planned for 2026 were also discussed, including the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), as well as the “Yerevan Dialogue” events initiated by the MFA and held for the third consecutive year.
In 2025, Armenia established new resident embassies in Cyprus, Hungary, and Oman. Within the framework of this policy, a new building for the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Armenia in Brussels was also acquired, and renovation works on the embassy building in Paris continued.
