Armen Grigoryan meets with representatives of Armenian and Azerbaijani cvil societies
On February 14, within the framework of the “Bridge of Peace” initiative, the Secretary of the RA Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, met with representatives of the Armenian and Azerbaijani civil societies. This information was released by the Office of the Security Council.
Grigoryan welcomed the visit of Azerbaijani civil society representatives to Armenia and emphasized that bilateral contacts in such a format are important for strengthening mutual trust and developing good-neighborly relations.
He presented the progress of the peace process to the meeting participants, addressed the potential economic developments resulting from the unblocking of regional communication channels, as well as the current dynamics of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
In the second part of the meeting, the Secretary of the SC answered the participants’ questions.
Grigoryan also noted that such contacts within the civil society platform contribute to the formation of dialogue and the expansion of opportunities for practical cooperation.
It is recalled that on February 13-14, a round-table discussion of the “Bridge of Peace” initiative, involving civil society representatives from the RA and Azerbaijan, is taking place. This time, it has been organized with an expanded composition; in addition to the 5 participants from each side, other experts have also been involved.
Twenty representatives from the Armenian side and 19 from the Azerbaijani side are participating.
