Armenia and Poland sign military-technical cooperation agreement
Armenia and Poland have signed a military-technical cooperation agreement in Warsaw. The document was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the Minister of National Defense of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The ceremony took place within the framework of the official visit to Poland by a delegation led by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.
While the Armenian side has not disclosed many details on the subject, Polish media outlets report that thanks to the agreement, the two countries will cooperate more closely in the field of scientific research, exchange information regarding the weapons they utilize, and develop cooperation between defense companies.
Following the signing ceremony, the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, delivered statements. Tusk emphasized that the path to the European Union is open for the citizens of Armenia. In turn, Nikol Pashinyan stressed that the country’s primary goal is to meet European standards and implement democratic reforms.
Pashinyan, for his part, invited Tusk to participate in the 8th European Political Community Summit, which is set to be held in Yerevan in May.
Poland has been a member of NATO since 1999 and actively participates in the alliance’s collective defense and military-technical cooperation initiatives, whereas Armenia is included in the CSTO. It should be noted that in February 2024, Yerevan froze its participation in the CSTO.
