The railways of Meghri, Yeraskh, and Ijevan will be reactivated
In the context of Armenian-Azerbaijani unblocking, the reactivation of the railways is being discussed. This was announced during a briefing by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan.
The railways of Meghri, Yeraskh, and Ijevan are planned to be reactivated. The Meghri segment will provide greater connectivity and opportunities with Iran, Azerbaijan, and also Turkey.
All railways should be reactivated through the universal peace intersection. The state had initially earmarked $200 million for this process.
If construction progresses, these preliminary figures will be finalized. This means that a project will be commissioned.Which will clarify the funding and timelines as a result. We will budget and allocate how much money is needed for each year. The $200 million figure is very preliminary, – Sanosyan noted.
Armenia will also reactivate all communication routes passing through its sovereign territory, ensuring the safety of cargo, vehicles, and people. This initiative is part of the “Peace Intersection” project.
