Pashinyan once again threatens the Catholicos of All Armenians

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a briefing with journalists that certain circles are attempting to move the Catholicosate of All Armenians out of Armenia, but he will not allow it.

“I also warn certain representatives of the Diaspora that such actions undermine the state security of Armenia, and our state will apply all necessary measures. We will redirect the gaze of those hidden under the mask of a benefactor, who have set their sights on the treasures of Etchmiadzin, in a completely different direction—using all means available to the RA,” Pashinyan said.

He added that, if necessary, additional steps will be taken to counter that objective. He also noted that state bodies are monitoring all movements, discussions, and goals related to attempts to move the Catholicosate.

It is recalled that from February 16-19, the Assembly of Bishops, convened by the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, will be held in the city of Sankt Pölten, Austria.

It should be noted that a number of clergymen participating in the assembly were summoned to the Investigative Committee on January 31, and a ban on leaving the country is currently being applied to them.
