The winter lighting schedule of the capital has changed
The Yerevan Municipality reports that the city’s street lighting will be turned on from 18:00 during the winter months. In some streets, the lighting will remain on until 4:00.
Thanks to savings from its own resources, the network is now also being activated one hour before sunrise in the morning, without reducing the duration of the night-time lighting regime, – this was stated in the announcement.
In Yerevan, street lights are typically turned on immediately after sunset, depending on the season. In autumn and winter, the city’s street lighting usually turns on around 17:30-18:00. Since daylight hours are longer in spring and summer, the lights are generally turned on between 20:00 and 21:00.
There are approximately 70,000 street lighting devices in Yerevan.
