The state housing support program for border communities is reopening in the Tavush and Vayots Dzor regions

Residents of the border villages of Berkaber, Baghanis, Kirants, and Voskepar in the Tavush region, as well as Gomk in the Vayots Dzor region, will have the opportunity to build homes with state support. The program aims to provide assistance to around 210 beneficiaries. In Voskepar and Baghanis, 50 families will be able to build homes, 40 families in Berkaber and Kirants, and 30 families in Gomk.

Families who have obtained a building permit by September 1, 2024, will also be eligible for assistance. Furthermore, if applicants have been registered in the given community within the past year, they will receive state support of up to 21 million drams, instead of the initial 16 million, for constructing or continuing the construction of an individual residential house in Baghanis, Berkaber, Kirants, or Voskepar.

The program was approved in June 2022. Initially, support was planned to be provided between 2022 and 2024. The decision was later extended for another year, until December 31, 2025. Over 1,100 applications have already been approved, and the construction of several homes is either in progress or completed.

The program is available to:

  • Married couples with at least one minor child and Armenian citizenship, or
  • Married couples without minor children, whose combined ages do not exceed 75 (inclusive), and who hold Armenian citizenship, or
  • Single parents with at least one minor child and Armenian citizenship (widowed).
