The Yerevan City Hall will provide firewood to families in need
The Yerevan City Hall announces that firewood collected from felled trees in the capital will be provided to families in need. The Yerevan “Greening and Environmental Protection” organization has cut down approximately 1,500 trees this year. The wood from these trees, along with around 800 cubic meters of firewood from pruning, will be distributed to administrative districts. These districts will determine which families in Yerevan will receive the firewood. It is planned to provide each eligible family with 1-2 cubic meters of firewood.
The program is available to:
1) Families with four or more minor children.
2) Soldiers who have gone to the front and have minor children.
3) Socially vulnerable families who are in urgent need of firewood and do not meet the above criteria.
According to AMNEWS, between 2020 and June 2024, a total of 5,497 dry and hazardous trees were felled in the Yerevan community. The practice of providing firewood to families in need began in 2020. At the start of the program, 500 cubic meters of firewood were collected.
