A city park will be created in the Nor Nork administrative district
A new city park will be established in an area of about 30 hectares, located near Mashtots Avenue and Lvovyan Street. This was announced during a working meeting of the Yerevan City Hall. In previous meetings, Armen Begoyan, head of the “Greening and Environmental Protection” municipal enterprise, stated that there are fenced areas in the region, and 8 families currently live there. Some of the land has been returned to the community.
This will be the 5th park to be built in Yerevan. It will be the largest in terms of area. The park will also include a recreational zone, a bicycle path, a sports area, an artificial lake, an amphitheater, and an eco-cafe.
There are also a small number of fruit trees in the area, which will be preserved. The remaining trees, which are dry, will be removed, – said Begoyan.
In response to our inquiry, the “Greening and Environmental Protection” municipal enterprise noted that green areas in Yerevan have been expanded. In 2023, green areas increased by 19.1 hectares, and in the first half of 2024, by 4.2 hectares.
