The Validity of QR Tickets for Yerevan Transportation Reduced to 4 Days

The validity period for QR tickets used for transportation payments in Yerevan has been reduced to 4 days. Initially, when the system was introduced, the validity period was 30 days, later reduced to 7 days.

At the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, changes were made to the rules for using public transportation in Yerevan. The municipality launched a dedicated website, transport.yerevan.am, where you can explore weekly, monthly, annual, and other ticket packages, compare options, and calculate which choice will be most cost-effective for you starting February 1, when fare adjustments take effect.

Since last year, it has been possible to make payments using bank cards. Work is also underway to implement NFC and Google Pay payment methods. Starting January 1, cash payments with 100-dram coins on buses are no longer accepted. Tickets must be purchased via “Tel-Cell” terminals or the mobile app.

The fare for buses remains at 100 drams, while trolleys still cost 50 drams for now. In December, the municipality decided to postpone the fare increase by one month, explaining that the measure was taken to make the transition to a unified ticketing system as smooth as possible.
