A New Social Assistance Program for Forcibly Displaced Individuals from Artsakh

Starting this month, a new social assistance program will be implemented for forcibly displaced individuals from Artsakh. The program aims to cover living and other expenses. This was announced by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

According to a statement from the Ministry, the monthly social assistance provided from January to March will amount to 50,000 AMD. The beneficiary group will remain almost the same as during the 40,000 + 10,000 AMD assistance program in 2024. However, the 10,000 AMD component, previously allocated to individuals owning property in Armenia, will no longer be available.

If you have already benefited from the 40,000 + 10,000 AMD assistance program, there is no need to submit new applications for 2025.

It should be noted that for the period from April to June 2025, the assistance will be reduced to 40,000 AMD for the following specific groups:

  • Children under 18 or individuals aged 18 and above engaged in compulsory education,
  • Individuals aged 63 and above,
  • Those who have lost their breadwinner or individuals with first- or second-degree disabilities.

From July to December 2025, the assistance will continue at a reduced amount of 30,000 AMD for the same beneficiary groups mentioned above.

Additionally, during the previous year, 6,626 forcibly displaced individuals from Artsakh applied for Armenian citizenship, and 5,210 individuals were granted citizenship by presidential decree. The Ministry also received 5,644 inquiries regarding citizenship verification.
