More than 300 families forcibly displaced from Artsakh have received housing certificates

Since June, Armenia has been implementing a state initiative to provide housing for displaced persons from Artsakh. Officials state that this is the largest and most expensive social program in the country’s history. Approximately 25,000 families are eligible to apply for this initiative.

As of now, more than 300 families have received housing certificates, and some have already managed to purchase their own homes. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs David Khachatryan. According to him, some families have already completed their transactions, while others are in the process of searching for or registering a property.

The program allows for the purchase of housing in 242 settlements across Armenia, including Yerevan (excluding the central “Zone 1” and “Zone 2”). The amount of state support per person is up to 5 million AMD, depending on the market value of real estate in the chosen region.

The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.5 to $2 billion.
