In 2025, a cyber laboratory will be established within the police system
During a concluding press conference, Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan announced plans to build a cyber laboratory within the police system.
She stated that the methodology of committing crimes has undergone a transformation, posing challenges for all countries worldwide. This, according to the minister, is why international cooperation has been intensified to ensure better positions in terms of information exchange and uncovering chains of individuals involved in crimes.
The minister revealed that a liaison officer will soon be appointed at Europol, with one of their main focuses being the fight against cybercrime. Sargsyan added that preliminary approval has been granted by partners to Armenia’s initiative to establish a cyber laboratory within the police system in the upcoming year.
The minister expressed hope that by 2025, this laboratory will be operational within the system, enabling much more effective and rapid actions in the cyber domain.
