Officer corps to have opportunity to acquire an apartment or house through state budget funds
During the Cabinet meeting on February 5, Deputy Minister of Defense Hrachya Sargsyan presented a new state support program designed for officer corps servicemen.
According to the program, citizens who graduate from military educational institutions and are appointed within the Ministry of Defense (MoD) system or the NSS (National Security Service) Border Guard Troops will have the opportunity to purchase an apartment or house of their choice. The property will be provided on the condition that the serviceman remains in service for a minimum of 20 years.
The amount provided by the certificate will be up to 35 million AMD for an 80-square-meter apartment in Yerevan; however, the serviceman can also choose the option of acquiring an apartment or house in the provinces (marzes).
Under the new regulation, the amount for acquiring an apartment is now fixed, but the serviceman can decide where and at what price to purchase the property.
