Changes made to public transportation usage in Yerevan starting November 1
From November 1, citizens in the capital will have three payment options when using public transportation types such as Man, ZhongTong, and GazelCity. The first option is direct payment with 100-dram coins using devices installed on the vehicles. The second option allows passengers to buy electronic tickets through the Telcell mobile payment system, and the third option involves purchasing paper tickets from Telcell machines located around the city. After purchasing tickets through the latter two options, passengers need to use the validators installed in the vehicles.
In case of any malfunction with the validators, the municipality has assumed responsibility, ensuring that citizens will not encounter any issues. Until the complete transition to the ticketing system, payments can also be made via bank cards.
Municipal spokesperson Hayk Kostanyan reported that on November 1, a total of 31,678,200 drams was collected, of which 5,215,300 drams were through validators (QR mobile app, QR paper). This amount is double that of October 31. Collections totaled 30,694,500 drams, with 1,970,900 of it through validators.
