French language textbooks to be updated
A partnership agreement was signed between the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and the Embassy of the French Republic in Armenia, aiming to jointly develop and modernize school textbooks for the French language.
The initiative is directed towards the effective implementation of the “FEF 2025–2026: Promotion of French in Armenia” project and the improvement of the quality of French language teaching in general education schools.
The document was signed by Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of ESCS, and Olivier Decottignies, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Armenia. Deputy Ministers Artur Martirosyan and Araksia Svajyan also participated in the event.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan evaluated the signing of the agreement as an important step towards deepening Armenia-France educational cooperation. According to her, a number of projects have already been implemented in recent years aimed at expanding French language teaching in schools and the professional development of teachers of the “French Language” subject.
The agreement stipulates that by the start of the 2027-2028 academic year, students studying “French Language” and teachers in general education schools will have textbooks, methodological manuals, and additional educational materials corresponding to the new foreign language curricula.
