Pothole filling issues persist in some administrative districts of Yerevan: what is known?

Pothole filling operations continue in Yerevan. According to data as of February 23, approximately 13,000 square meters of asphalt-concrete pavement have already been restored in the capital, reports Andranik Tevosyan, the Acting Head of the Construction and Improvement Department of the Yerevan Municipality.

According to him, a temporary solution has also been provided for about 320 potholes, which have been inventoried for comprehensive restoration in the future.

At the same time, Tigran Avinyan condemned the conduct of construction companies that attempted to fill potholes without using bitumen and instructed that oversight in this direction be strengthened.

Earlier, several Facebook users reported that pothole filling was being carried out without bitumen at various locations in Yerevan.

Following this, the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Armen Pambukhchyan, noted that they had witnessed such situations and cited the example of Vardanants Street.

“That asphalt will be removed, and we must receive the pothole filling entirely at the contractor’s expense, as stipulated by both the Council of Elders’ decisions and our procedures. This issue occurs in localized areas. It is not an issue of bitumen supply but rather of the contractor’s approach—meaning the Municipality will not spend money there,” Pambukhchyan stated.
