Armenia’s highways are mostly open
According to the Road Department, as of 09:00 AM on February 23, all interstate and republican roads are open for traffic.
At the same time, there are specific restrictions. The Rescue Service informs that in the Aragatsotn region, the roads leading from the “Amberd” high-mountain meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed.
Weather conditions continue to be difficult in various sections. It is snowing in the Ashotsk region, while fog is reported in the Goris region and the Dilijan bends, with visibility ranging between 100–150 meters. Road maintenance companies are conducting cleaning and salt-sand treatment operations. Drivers are urged to travel exclusively with winter tires.
Regarding Upper Lars, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for heavy trucks. This information was conveyed by the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the RF.
